OUR CRIME MAPS

CrimeGrade.org collects current crime data from the federal government and uses proprietary machine learning techniques to find the safest and most dangerous places in the US. Our rich, interactive crime maps are the beautiful distillation of that official data into an accessible, intelligible and useful tool that we've made freely available to the public.

MAPPING CRIME IN THE UNITED STATES

We generate detailed crime maps for every city, state, zip code, county and as granular as down to a census block group in the United States. Find your own city or explore a crime map below to see where recorded crime is highest near you, or a place you're considering moving to.

If you're a researcher or journalist looking for specific crime maps, or crime maps in bulk we can work with you and your team to generate those for your crime data needs.

THE DATA SCIENCE BEHIND OUR INTERACTIVE CRIME MAPS

You may have noticed that our maps and statistics look different than other sites that publish crime maps statistics online. This is because CrimeGrade is able to use machine learning to break larger areas down to the census block level, enabling more precise crime maps. Unlike other sites, we're able to accurately map what crime is like near you, filling in the data gaps you'll notice elsewhere.

Our data scientists break down crime statistics into several types of crime. We focus on two main categories for crime mapping purposes: Violent and Property crime, which notably does not include drug related crimes. We publish maps for various dimensions of crime including overall violent and property crime in an area but also drill break things down by mapping murder, robbery, theft and arson etc.

Another differentiation between CrimeGrade and other crime sites is that we're able to project and map what crime will be like in the near future, in any given place, based on past trends we analyze with our proprietary AI.
